How to Apply for Housing

Starting in April 2025, students who have officially confirmed their enrollment at MSM will receive a welcome email containing:

• Their MSM email address
• Their Student ID
• A link to apply for housing

Once a student confirms their enrollment, they should receive this email within one week.

Housing Application Timeline

• April 1, 2025 – Housing application opens in eReslife
• May 5, 2025 – Deadline for all incoming undergraduate and graduate students to submit the housing application

How to Access the Housing Application

1. Once you receive your MSM credentials, log in to eRezLife using your MSM email and password.
2. First-time eRezLife users will need to activate their account before applying.
3. The Housing Application can be found on your Home tab under “Your Housing Applications.”

Important Reminders

Housing Requirements & Placement

• Freshman and Sophomore students are required to live on campus. All first-year and sophomore students will be placed in housing, so it is essential to meet the application deadline and submit preferences by May 5, 2025.
• Graduate and Junior Transfer students are encouraged to apply for housing. Junior students will be placed on upperclass floors, while incoming graduate students will be housed together as space allows.

Housing for Summer English Study (SES) Students

• Freshman SES Students must live on campus for the entire academic year. These students must submit:

  • A Summer Housing Application (for the SES program)
  • A Housing Application for the 2025-2026 academic year
  • Both applications are available in eRezLife and are due by May 5, 2025.

• Graduate SES Students must live on campus during the SES program but will not automatically have housing for the academic year.

  • If you would like housing for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026, you must submit a Housing Application in addition to your SES requirements.
  • Both the Summer Housing Application and the Housing Application for 2025-2026 are in eRezLife and must be submitted by May 5, 2025.

Below are the housing rates from the 2024–2025 academic year. 2025-2026 rates will be available upon board approval:

Please note: The below listed rates do not include winter break housing.

Triple Room: $9700

Double Room: $11,800

Single Room: $16,800

Premium Single: $17,900

 

 

Below are the meal plan rates from the 2024–2025 academic year. 2025-2026 rates will be available upon board approval:

All MSM students are required to participate in a declining balance meal plan. The cost of the plan is loaded on your ID card to spend at the dining hall à la carte. Meal plan balances roll over from the Fall Semester to the Spring Semester but they do not roll over from year to year.

The following descriptions should help you find the best meal plan for you:

• Gold Plan:  $6,250*
  The gold plan is for students who plan to eat mostly in the MSM cafeteria.
• Silver Plan:  $4,730*
  The silver plan is a mid-range plan for students who want to find a good balance between eating in the cafeteria as well as enjoying local eateries off campus.
• Bronze Plan:  $3,500*
  The bronze plan is built for students who like the convenience of eating on-campus but plan to eat most of their meals off-campus.

Note: Students select their meal plan when completing their housing application.

Any student who requires a specific disability accommodation should make a request via our Physician Verification Form by May 5, 2025.

The Office of Residence Life will make every effort to meet the needs of incoming students.

 

 

If you are requesting a Housing Exemption, the documentation for these requests must be sent to the Office of Residence Life at residencelife@zjjxhcj.com by May 5, 2025. You may find these documents below.

Freshmen who would like to be considered exempt from housing and live off-campus must complete their request via the Housing Exemption Form. Your request will be reviewed and you will be notified of your status via email.

Students who are requesting to be exempt due to a medical or mental health need must also have a Physician Verification Form completed by a medical professional.

Students who request an exemption due to their mental health will also be asked to be evaluated by an MSM counselor.

Requests to be exempt from housing are due May 5, 2025.
